No party is finish without some great appetizers, but it is exceptionally unfeigned on Halloween when your are searching for the most utterly disgusting body parts. Not only do they have to look bad, but they still have to taste good. Here is my favored appetizer for everyone who loves shrimp, and it is both fast and easy to make

What You Will Need:

  • 1 lb medium-large sized cocktail shrimp
  • 1/4 pound little cocktail shrimp
  • toothpicks
  • cocktail sauce
  • rosemary sprigs for garnish

How to make them:

Go to your bestloved grocery store or fish market and pick up a heap of already-cooked cocktail shrimp. Since the shrimp you are using is ready to eat, you will not have to de-vein or shell them, but you will have to cut off the tail. Cut off the tails. Next, take the medium huge shrimp and slice them down the middle (on the inside of the curve) so that you are butterflying them. Tuck the little shrimp into the medium huge shrimp and skewer with a toothpick. Skewering them will hold the ear together, giving it the aspect of a humane ear.

Finish off by drizzling a little cocktail sauce over one of the ears so it appears bloody. This is your sample ear so prop it up for all to see… then place the rest of the shrimp strategically on a platter, with cocktail sauce drizzled around it (not on it, numerous persons do not like it). Finish by putting a few rosemary sprigs on the drizzled blood (cocktail sauce). Have a bowl of cocktail sauce and a lot of sliced lemons on the side for the guests to use at their fancy.

When you put this together, you will how this may be a very general and easy appetizer for a disgusting Halloween party food. Bon appetit!

4Drunken Mushroom Master
By Daniel Wiggs
As I’ve mentioned when reviewing a gluten free recipe book I purchased and reviewed earlier this month, I was unaware of celiac disease and the associated dietary requirements.

This book doesn’t go into any detail about the symptoms and causes, instead opting for a straight up book of easy to follow and delicious sounding simple recipes – just as the title states.

Unlike other books on appetisers, not all of these are simple three ingredient slap together snacks, but in the main are real, in-depth recipes. My favourites include Sweet Mustard Chicken Wings and Drunken Mushrooms!

One of the best features of these recipes is that they don’t shout ‘look at me, I ‘m on a special diet!’, so can be served to absolutely everyone at a party without the gluten free guest feeling awkward – nicely done Suzanne!

All I can say is WOW! After reading through this cookbook there are many recipes that I can hardly wait to try. I especially want to try the Sweet Mustard Chicken Wings and the Honey Ginger Shrimp. Those look awesome. I’ve had the Warm Seafood Dip and it is delicious. I certainly will make it again.

This book is well put together and has some really excellent recipes. It is simple and easy to read and the author appears to be well versed in the subject matter. It provides some unique but interesting recipes that I haven’t seen anywhere else before but they are still made with everyday ingredients. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for great appetizer recipes, even if they don’t have to follow a gluten-free diet.
